FREE rod licence

to take a friend fishing

-

A FREE rod licence is one of the great incentives in one of the sport’s biggest-ever drives to promote fishing and bring new blood into angling.

The Take A Friend Fishing Scheme (TAFF) is aiming to entice anglers to take their friends and family and loved ones out and try fishing for the first time this Easter.

Run by the Angling Trades Association in partnership with the Environment Agency – and supported by Angling Trust fisheries, clubs and coaches – the scheme will be running three initiatives this year. The first of them set to begin on Saturday, April 8 and finishing at midnight on Sunday, April 23.

Although the free rod licences can be used on any venue, to make it even easier, the project is also allowing participants to fish without charge at a number of individual venues and Angling Trust fishery and club member venues. All of there can be found on the website at: www. takeafriendfishing.co.uk.

It’s easy to participate in TAFF – cut out or print off the rod licence voucher below, fill in your contact details, validate it online at www. takeafriendfishing.co.uk, read the Terms and Conditions, grab your fishing tackle and the voucher, and go fishing with a friend.

The free licence voucher cannot be used to fish for coarse fish on any river, stream or drain in England and Wales between March 15 and June 15 inclusive, when there is a closed season.

The closed season may apply to some canals and stillwaters in your area and each fishery has its own list of rules and excursions - please check before going fishing.
