The two-acre Tench Pond is well worth a visit in the early summer for its tench potential. Depths range from 5ft to 12ft and there are plenty of reeds in the margins, which the tench love. Target these areas with sweetcorn and pellet on the waggler for a potential 7lb tinca with lots of smaller fish to make up the weights. Bradley’s Pit is a tench super water where numerous bags of tincas can be taken in quick succession on speci-style tactics. Some anglers have taken up to 20 fish to 10lb in a session by casting a feeder around 30 yards out with a mixture of groundbait and particles. 10 RYSON LAKE, WILLOWBROOK FISHERIES, NORTHANTS
Ryson Lake contains some colossal tench to 12lb, and there are plenty of other fish in the 4lb-6lb bracket that are guaranteed to keep the float going under. The main Willowbrook Lake, which is first and foremost a carp water, also holds a good head of tench to 8lb and these fish are often caught on boilie hookbaits fished into the margins by the carp anglers.
