ALDERS FARM SPRING LEAGUE (RND 3) (SUN) Ash Lake (27 pegs)

There were plenty of big weights brought to the scales – and Alan Oaks’s 227-7-0 was the most impressive of the lot. Drawn on hot peg 30 in the shallows, the JL Tackle team member fished pellet on the short pole to find lots of fish to 6lb. Steve Waters was the runner-up on 177-7-0 from the next peg.

BAIT-TECH VIADUCT FISHERY (SAT) Cary Lake (19 pegs)

Fishery manager Paul Greenwood took time out from his duties to fish this contest and put his superior knowledge of the complex to great use to land 199-14-0.

Fishing with both the pole and rod and line tactics from peg 97, he placed fish to over 12lb in his nets. Scott Puddy came second with 188-10-0 from peg 99.

COLEMAN’S COTTAGE SPRING LEAGUE (SUN) Pathfield, Stepfield & Wood Lakes (49 pegs)

Tom Wallis will have had a few aches and pains the day after this encounter as he motored his way into pole position with 162-0-0. The local lad used pellet both short and long on the pole for a mixture of carp and F1s. Cliff Adams was on end peg 1 and caught plenty of fish along the end bank to take second spot with 152-0-0.

COLEMAN’S COTTAGE (THURS) Pathfield Lake (19 pegs)

There was plenty of competitio­n for the framing places but who the winner certainly was never in doubt come the final whistle, with Gary Ford dominating from start to finish.

Using pellet both tight over to the far bank and down the margins of peg 14, the Ockenden Bait & Tackle angler kept carp and F1s feeding to finish on 146-0-0. Ross Bibbey was second with 99-8-0 from peg 2.

FRAMFIELD FISHERY (WEDS) Brookhouse Lake (20 pegs)

A long pole attack worked wonders for Mike Head as he won with 121-10-0. The Carp Shop-backed angler was on peg 4 and kept carp to 8lb coming by fishing pellet out at 16m. Nobby Whiting was on peg 17 and wasn’t far off the pace on 117-1-0.

GOLD VALLEY LAKES (FRI) Syndicate Lake (21 pegs)

Jeb Attwood had plenty in reserve as he cruised to a 110-12-0 victory. Both the pole and Method feeder produced bites for the venue regular from peg 139, with mirrors and commons to double figures going into the nets.

HAREFIELD TACKLE SPRING SERIES (SUN) Royal Berkshire Fishery (18 pegs)

Tony West picked a renowned flier out of the bag and took full advantage as he finished with 95-8-0. The pressure was on when peg 18 stuck to his hand at the draw and from there he fished 4m out with pellet and meat for plenty of big carp and a few F1s thrown in for good measure. Terry Swan was second from peg 8 with 91-10-0.

SENSAS KENNET & AVON SPRING LEAGUE (RND 1) (SUN) Kings Arms, Whaddon, Seend Park & The Pile (100 pegs)

There was a fantastic turnout for this league opener, with Nick King getting off to a flying start as he bagged 18-13-0 and the £300 top prize. The Browning Andover Red angler drew to the right of the marina mouth and caught hand-sized skimmers and the odd better sample on red maggot over groundbait. Jason Kirk was second with 16-7-0, with Garbolino Blackmore Vale putting in a great team performanc­e to take 88 points.

SHIPLATE FARM FISHERY (SUN) (Main Lake 18 pegs)

Russ Peck won his second open in the space of a week by bagging 101lb 13oz. Fishing peg 4, the Thatchers angler filled his net with mostly carp in the 8-9lb bracket, fishing shallow with pellets.

TYLERS COMMON (SAT) Horseshoe Lake (25 pegs)

Attacking the margins worked a treat for Dave Harold as he put together 198-0-0 to take the glory. Fishing down the inside of peg 54, the Ockenden Bait and Tackle angler used meat and kept carp to 9lb coming thick and fast. Ross Harold went down the pellet shallow route from peg 20 and was second with 190-0-0.
