BULLOCK FARM FISHERY, CLEVEDON, SOMERSET

Phillip and Jude, who run the fishery, say that anglers fishing the South Pool have been catching some cracking mixed bags of carp, skimmers and the odd tench as well as bream to 5lb 8oz. Meat, corn and bread have all worked. Contact: 01934 835020 Postcode: BS21 6XA

CLATTERCOTE RESERVOIR, BANBURY, OXON

Roach to 1lb-plus can be taken on the long pole with maggot or caster fished over groundbait here. Double-up your hookbaits to break through to the bigger fish, and don’t be afraid to come shallower for bites. Contact: 01908 302556 Postcode: OX17 1DR

COULDENS FARM FISHERY, EDENBRIDGE, KENT

Some excellent bags of bream and tench are being caught from this picturesque natural water. For the tench, which average 4lb, fish next to the many lily beds with corn, double maggot and chopped worm over a small amount of groundbait. For the bream, try fishing the pole in open water with a 6mm expander pellet or double caster over a bed of micros. Contact: 07470 854915 Postcode: TN8 6QU

CREEDY LAKES, CREDITON, DEVON

The Main Lake is the specimen water and regulars frequently land lumps to 31lb. Boilies, pellets and dead maggots are popular baits to use here – especially when fished in conjunction with PVA bags of pellets. Contact: 01363 772684 Postcode: EX17 4AB

DIGGER LAKES, CULLOMPTON, DEVON

A host of 30lb fish are stocked in both Snail’s Lake and Persey’s Pool and are regularly caught. The maze of islands, channels and bays make Snail’s Lake a magnet for the angler adopting a roving approach. Contact: 07733 2233417 Postcode: EX15 2PE

DANDY’S FORD FISHERY, ROMSEY, HANTS

All three lakes on this well-

managed fishery are producing some good tench, carp and bream sport. The 28-peg Calvert Lake is arguably the best for mixed nets and has a match record weight of nearly 300lb! Contact: 01794 324 599 Postcode: SO51 6DT

FROBURY FARM FISHERY, NEWBURY, BERKS

Local club Beehive Angling fished a competition on the Match Lake recently and enjoyed plenty of action with nets topping 60lb of carp and tench. A simple pole and maggot approach seemed to work best, keeping the maggots going in by hand or catapult. Contact: 01635 297122 Postcode: RG20 4QQ

FURNACE BROOK FISHERY, COWBEECH, E SUSSEX

This 5.5-acre stream-fed natural lake is home to some fantastic bream and tench to near double figures, as well as carp to over 20lb and crucians to 2lb. The cage feeder cast down the track of the lake with corn on the hook will produce bites from all species. Contact: 01435 830835 Postcode: BN27 4QR

SHIPLATE FARM FISHERY, WESTON-SUPER-MARE, SOMERSET

The 15-peg Hawthorns Lake is producing some excellent nets of carp and bream for those fishing hard 6mm pellets tight to the far bank. Cup in damp micro pellets at the start of your session, then drop your hard pellet feed directly over the top to catch. Contact: 07895 852162 Postcode: BS24 0NY

LAKE JOHN, WALTHAM ABBEY, ESSEX

You can catch 100lb of bream relatively easily on the Top Lake at the moment. Fish around 5m to 6m out, feeding fairly heavily with pellets and corn for fish to 3lb and the odd tench. The occasional carp might show, too. Mixed bags on Bottom Lake are also showing to corn and maggot hookbaits. Feeding little and often is the key to a netful here. LODGE FARM, FRITWELL, OXON

Big nets of carp, crucians and silverfish are being reported on the Match Lake of this little-known venue located just outside Chipping Norton. The lake has depths to around 8ft and an island for anglers to target on the bomb or feeder. Contact: 01869 345214 Postcode: OX27 7QF

TILGATE PARK LAKE, CRAWLEY, SUSSEX

Bream nets to over 40lb can be taken on the Method Feeder here. Use 10mm boilies on the hair for the biggest slabs, but always pack worm and maggots to get consistent bites. Contact: 01293 552222 Postcode: RH10 5PH

MOTE PARK LAKE, MAIDSTONE, KENT

Bream to 7lb can be taken on the groundbait feeder, but it’s the roach to 1lb 8oz that most anglers target. Fish the pole or waggler at around 14m with caster to catch. Fish around 4ins overdepth for the bream and 1ins off the bottom for the roach. Contact: 01622 673899 Postcode: ME15 7SU

ORCHID LAKES, DORCHESTER ON THAMES, OXON

The main carp water is Orchid Lake itself. There are currently between 25 and 40 different 30-pounders in the venue, with another 200 to 300 fish to just under 30lb as back-up. At this time of year the fish can be caught on bright pop-ups or bottom baits fished over PVA bags of pellets. Contact: 01865 341810 Postcode: OX10 7LP

WATERGATE FARM FISHERY, BULFORD, WILTS

Anglers have been scoring well by fishing small pellet or Method feeders on the day-ticket lake for carp to 10lb and big roach to over 1lb in nets of over 100lb. The best catches are being taken by anglers clipping up and casting to the island which runs all the way down the centre of the lake. Contact: 07768 515332 Postcode: SP4 7EB

WATERSMEET, ANGLING CENTRE, HARTPURY, GLOS

This fishery has recently opened up to day-ticket anglers and is well worth a visit. The one-acre Tench Pool is a renowned tinca water, where fish to near double figures can be targeted. Anglers are catching well on this lake by fishing on the deck with natural baits, close to features. Contact: 01452 700358 Postcode: GL19 3BT

WHITE SPRINGS FISHERY, SWANSEA, GLAMORGAN

Big catches of bream to 5lb are available on the New Canal. Fish chopped worm and corn over caster and hemp to be in with a shot of putting 50lb of fish together. Peg 4 on the Specimen Lake also produced its first grass carp in four years last week, with a 26lb 2oz specimen falling to traditional carp tactics. Contact: 01792 885699 Postcode: SA4 8QG
