Paul Cook and Ray Lamb took the pairs honours in this one with 25 points, while on the individual front, Mick Bull top-scored with 120-12-0 of big carp and skimmers at peg 64 on the Specimen Lake. He fished pellet at 14m and then down the edge. Danny Bache claimed second with 113-3-0.

Cambridges­hire angler Andy Adams took the golden ticket in this one as he topped the shop on 104-11-0 off peg 5 on the Top Lake. Pellet shallow at 16m saw him net carp to 11lb plus F1s. That put him just ahead of Stewart Bracey on the Willow Lake, who fished chopped worm and caster for a 98-9-0 mix of carp and F1s.

RAF rod Toby Pepper booked his big-money final place after topping this qualifier with 196-14-0 of F1s off peg 16 on the Falcon Lake, catching on pellet down both edges. That left Andy Bennett in second on peg 47 of the same lake. Andy also fished pellet in the edge plus maggot shallow at 5m for 193-2-0 of F1s.

A combinatio­n of bomb and pellet and paste at 9m saw Paul Schoof win this latest round from peg 21 as he took 117-2-0 of carp to 10lb to the scales. That left Tuxford’s Ben Dales in second on peg 11 with 86-15-0 of carp and skimmers taken on pellet fished at 13m.

Some good weights were recorded in this round, winner Chris Harrison bagging 154-0-0 of carp to 9lb from peg 24 on the Lambsdown Lake where he fished Method feeder and bomb with pellet. Wayne Sharman finished second with 142-2-0 of carp on bomb and pellet from peg 39 on the same lake. Overall, Grant Merritt leads on six points from Baz Byrd.

The Easter Sunday match drew a big crowd, and Dave Emlyn won it with 83-6-0 of carp to 6lb off Ash Pool peg 20 fishing maggot shallow at 4m and then down the side. Second place went to Morgan

Davidson on peg 6 of the Larch Pool with 82-7-0 of carp taken on maggot in the margins.

Friday’s Easter open went the way of Mosella man Alex Harper. He drew peg 4 on the Top Pool where he fished pellet at 14m, 5m and down the side for 168-15-0 of F1s and a few skimmers. Mark Taylor followed in second from peg 31 on the same lake with 136-11-0 of F1s and skimmers on meat.

New & House Pools (40 pegs) House Pool peg 25 was the scene of Matt Bingham’s 140-5-0 winner on Sunday. The Mosella rod fished pellet on his top kit and then down the side to plunder a mix of carp and F1s and get in front of Phil Moore in second on 124-15-0.

Just over 3lb divided first and second in this old boys’ clash. Nigel Bryan won it with 88-5-0 of F1s at peg 8 on the Canal Pool, where he fished pellet across at 11m and then in the edge. Second-placed Tony James stuck to maggot down the side at peg 13 on the same lake for 85-0-0 of carp and F1s.

A near-full house on Thursday found the Falcon Lake in steady form. Brian Thompson won this one with a level 111-0-0 of F1s at peg 46 as he fished pellet down both margins. Second went to Roy Taylor at peg 34 with 96-0-0 of F1s. He also fished pellet at 5m and in the edge.
