Carp the target at Blundells

BLUNDELLS FISHERY, MOSS SIDE FARM, CHESHIRE

-

SOME of the biggest weights in the North West have been enjoyed by anglers visiting Blundells Fishery in recent weeks.

On the 19-peg Ash Pool anglers have been bagging up with nets to 160lb of carp averaging 6lb and going up to double figures.

The recent cool weather has seen many doing well fishing the pole or waggler with pellets to the sunken islands about 15m out, where the water shallows up to 4ft, pinging out 8mm pellets via a catapult. Numbers of fish are also falling to bomb and pellet fished to the far side.

Some lumps are starting to be caught down the edge now

and this will only continue as the summer progresses, so it’s worth feeding a line for these.

If you can’t find a peg on Ash, then Trio Pool is also worth fishing, especially for F1s averaging 2lb and carp to 5lb. A 100lb net is on the cards here and anglers are currently catching well by following the wind and using a top-2 plus one on the pole with caster shallow.
