Korda man’s time out for a 9lb 1oz tench

GARY Newman had every reason to smile when he slipped the net under this 9lb 1oz tench.

The Korda TV production and project manager from Chesham, Bucks, took time out from his busy schedule to tackle a venue in the Colne Valley, where he fished a Method feeder and hair-rigged imitation caster hookbaits over a bed of 4mm pellets and casters.

He’s enjoyed a productive time at the venue recently, as he also landed the much sought-after mirror carp known as Cluster at 40lb 10oz, along with many other tench. These, including an 8lb 9oz male, were all caught on the same feeder tactics.
