I love fishing, I don’t enjoy camping out

I REALLY don’t understand why every angler today seems to want to sit hiding in a green tent pitched up behind three rods, all with electronic bite alarms, waiting to catch the biggest fish in the lake.

Surely the true essence of fishing is best felt by watching a carefully shotted float slide under the surface when a battle with a hardfighting fish results.

It shouldn’t matter how big the fish you catch are. All that should matter is that you’re at one with nature and out on the bank away from the wife! Derek Healy, Bury
