NEW MEGASTORE FOR ESSEX

Don’t miss the grand June 10 opening at Clavering Lakes, near Saffron Walden

-

LEADING fishing tackle megastore Fishing Republic has revealed details of its new shop… at one of the UK’s leading stillwater fisheries.

Fishing Republic Essex will be opening for business on June 10 at Clavering Lakes – a popular carp and coarse complex close to the bustling market town of Saffron Walden.

“We thought long and hard before selecting Clavering for our first Essex store and there’s no denying it’s ‘tucked away’ – you’ll need your sat nav for your first visit!” said Fishing Republic area manager Steve Calder.

“But it’s just a short hop from the A10 and M11, and our plan is to attract customers from Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and farther afield.

“We know that if we provide the tackle and bait anglers need, at the right price and, importantly, all under one roof, they’ll be happy to travel to us.”

Clavering Lakes is home to a specimen carp lake, boasting fish in excess of 40lb, plus match and silvers lakes stocked with crucians, roach, perch, tench, rudd and bream.

The adjacent Lodge Café will prove popular with families too – offering an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and a decking area with panoramic views of the lakes.

“We’ll be taking full advantage of this idyllic location and the terrific facilities – which include two stock/training ponds – for our Grand Opening on June 10,” added Steve.

That opening, a self-styled ‘Family Fishing Day’, will include free taster fishing sessions with professional coaches John and Becky Pope, together with bait and rig clinics courtesy of celebrity guests Nigel Sharp, Adam Penning and Terry Dempsey.

All visitors will enjoy free entry into a series of prize draws, offering the chance to win tackle, bait and day tickets, plus the first 150 customers will also pick up complimentary goodie bags worth around £40.

Refreshments, in the form of a hog roast, teas, coffees, bacon butties and soft drinks, will be available from 10am.

Then there’s a tackle mega sale which, as at previous openings, will feature leading brand rods, reels, poles and bivvies at up to half price. “Whether you’re upgrading your existing kit, or just starting out, it really it would pay you to hang on to your cash till June 10,” said Steve.

In all, the store will comprise around 5,000 square feet of carp, match, predator and specimen tackle from the likes of Daiwa, Drennan, Fox, Jag, Maver, Nash, Preston and Shimano, not to mention own-brand poles, seat boxes, clothing and more – at some of the lowest prices in the industry.

If recent launches are any gauge, you’d be well advised to arrive early – the sale starts at 9am sharp.
