ANGEL OF THE NORTH FISHERY, CHESTER-LE-STREET, DURHAM

Anglers on Bowes Lake have caught perch to 2lb 8oz while rudd to over 1lb have featured on Lookout Lake, as well as Ide to over 3lb. Caster fished shallow has worked wonders, although the perch have taken a liking to maggots and worms fished down the edge. Contact: 01914 100449 Postcode: DH3 1RF

BANNISTER HOUSE FISHERY, PRESTON, LANCS

The New Match Canal continues to produce monster weights, and a 166lb 8oz bag was taken during a recent competitio­n. Head to the pegs in the 60s and alternate between fishing meat at 14m to the far bank and maggots down the edge for plenty of carp to 8lb. Contact: 01704 821474 Postcode: PR4 6JR

BROOM FISHERIES, ANNAN, DUMFRIESSH­IRE

CARR SIDE FARM, CROSBY, MERSEYSIDE

The Main Lake is a hard venue but contains plenty of quality fish, including roach over 1lb, perch over 2lb and carp to over 20lb. The specimen catfish in Ponds 1 and 2 will be on the feed with the arrival of the warmer weather. Pond 1 allows anglers to enjoy overnight sessions.
