HOME IN HERE IF YOU’RE AFTER CARP DOUBLES

RECOMMENDED FLOAT FISH FARM FISHERY, PETERBOROUGH, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

-

THE Cambridgeshire venue has been in fine form of late, with specimen and pleasure anglers all reporting good catches.

If it’s carp runs you want, then you won’t go far wrong on Home Lake.

This 15-swim pool holds commons, leathers and mirrors to nearly 30lb, with lots of upper doubles to put a bend in your rod. The lake also holds some big bream and tench that can be targeted by big-fish

anglers who don’t want carp.

If big fish aren’t your thing, how about a session on the Two Islands Lake, where nets to 150lb have been recorded recently?

This lake has 36 swims, some of which you can park behind and bites aren’t at a premium here, with a high-density stock.

Fishing a Method feeder or bomb tight to one of the islands will find chunky carp to 15lb, although the pole with maggots on the deck in open water will fetch more bites from skimmers, perch, roach, rudd, barbel and ide.

PRICES: Prices vary across lakes, but day tickets start from £6. There is also the option of a £5 Trusted Member Card, which allows use of own landing nets, keepnets and groundbait
