MATURE JEWEL FULL OF BIG CARP
RECOMMENDED MILTON POOLS, GREAT MILTON, OXFORDSHIRE
IF YOU want a big-carp fishing experience this weekend, look no further than Milton Pools.
Established just over 70 years ago, the venue is a little-known Oxfordshire jewel for novice and experienced anglers alike.
Set in a delightful location near Oxford city, the venue comprises six lakes which offer everything from tranquil pleasure fishing to specimen big-carp angling.
For big carp and catfish there is the Specimen Lake, which also offers night fishing with bivvy alternatives in the form of Swedish-style cabins.
For general coarse fishing and the chance of a stunning mixed net of fish there is the House Pool. This lake has carp to 22lb along with most other stillwater species – everything from tench to perch and orfe.
Angling clubs are also welcomed on site with the opportunity to book some of the fishery’s other mixed stock pools such as Len’s and Campbell’s match lakes.
Electronically-controlled gates operate between 7pm and 7.30am. Most of the pegs are suitable for disabled anglers. PRICES: £7 one rod, £10 for two, under-16s £5, £12 for overnight
