HOW TO RIG A WINDOW FEEDER

-

RUNNING RIG

On to the shockleader I thread a 1ins running paternoster with a small Guru line stop below it. I tie a 6ins twizzled loop at the end of the shockleader – the line stop rests against this.

MAINLINE

On big waters like Ferry Meadows, where I am likely to be fishing at distances in excess of 50m, I always like to fish with braid, and I tend to use either Daiwa Tournament Evo or Guru Pulse8, both in 0.10mm diameter. Braid has zero stretch and is low diameter, helping in terms of accuracy and bite detection. Rather than fish braid direct though I always use a length of shockleader line – mine is 10lb Tournament ST mono, which has a bit of stretch to avoid bumping fish.

HOOKLENGTH

Hooklength is either 0.15mm or 0.17mm N-Gauge depending on hookbait –0.15mm for maggot and 0.17mm for worm. I start at 50cm but I might shorten this if I feel the fish are feeding close to the feeder.
