THINGS were a little closer in the Juniors event, also on the Suez Canal, with Guru young gun Will McCranor being crowned champion by just under 4.5kg.

The 15-year-old from the West Midlands weighed in 25675 of F1s and ide, with Danny Slack second on 21-235.

Will’s win follows the Junior National Angling title that he took a few weeks ago, and sets him up for the Youth World Champs next month. Vanarama Juniors Fish O’Mania result:
