Fishing Republic man Mitch Rawlinson led the way in this one. He won in style with 164-1-0 of carp to double figures, plus F1s. He fished pellet in the margins from peg 9 on Trio. Dave Brown Snr was next, with 133-5-0 of carp to 5lb and F1s from peg 25 on the same lake, where he caught on caster shallow at 4m.

LEEDS DASA (SUN) Yorkshire Ouse (65 pegs)

The Yorkshire Ouse can be a fickle river in the summer, and so it proved for this match, with a good winning weight before things dropped off somewhat. York rod Tim Harrison won with 55-12-0 of bream to 6lb at peg 206, where he used groundbait feeder with worm and caster. Just 11-10-0 secured second for Mick Potter, who took a couple of bream backed by small fish.

MILL HOUSE FISHERIES (SUN) Mistral Lake (36 pegs)

Weights were on the low side, but they made for a tight frame as 8lb covered the top six. Lingmere’s Phil Henry won with 77-0-0 of carp to 5lb from peg 31, where he fished paste at 10m. Second went to Allan Dewhurst with 75-0-0 of fish to 6lb on pellet at 13m from peg 43.

MIRFIELD AC (SAT) River Calder, Mexborough Estate (45 pegs)

Hot weather and bright sun made for poor conditions, and to add to the grief pike proved a problem for many. Cleckheato­n’s Dave Armitage found roach and perch on waggler and maggot from peg 3 at Wood Nook for a winning 7-14-0. Dave Kershaw had 7-6-0 of small fish for second spot.

NEWTON-LEWILLOWS AA (SUN) Sankey Canal, Upper Pound (40 pegs)

A good turnout on the canal saw Warrington man Chris Grehan take the honours with 12-10-0 at peg 8. His catch was made up of a bream, a tench and skimmers, all taken on pellet fished at 14m. Runner-up Dave Nicholls, on peg 46, fished groundbait feeder and worm for two bream, plus skimmers, for 8-6-0.

OAKS LAKES (SUN) Ash, Beech & Sycamore Lakes (35 pegs)

Weights weren’t as massive on the new lakes as they have been, but they still made for impressive reading. Paste king Phil Sellars again won, this time with 227-12-0 of carp to 5lb taken at 4m from Sycamore peg 9. Tony Watson was second with 215-0-0 of carp on pellet. OLD HOUGH FISHERY (SAT) Big Max & Lower Benbo Lakes (30 pegs)

Gareth Gibbons was the only man to crack the ton on Saturday. He returned 105-0-0 of carp to 5lb off peg 10 on Big Max, fishing pellet at 14m and corn in the margins. Runner-up Martin Kay came close to triple figures with 99-3-0.

PARTRIDGE LAKES (SAT) Covey Canal Lakes (47 pegs)

Ray’s Tackle man John Turner led them home on Saturday with a 105-2-0 net of carp and F1s from peg 58 on Canal 3. He fished caster shallow at 6m and pellet in the margins. That left Craig Haslam in second with 104-0-0 of carp and F1s on pellet from peg 83 on Canal 4.

Result: 1 J Turner, Ray’s Tackle, 105-2-0; 2 C Haslam, Partridge Lakes, 104-0-0; 3 A Geldart, MAP/Dynamite Baits, 85-0-0; 4 J Jones, Garbolino Elton, 75-6-0; 5 K Leatherbar­row, Leigh Tackle & Bait, 73-2-0; jt6 R Smith, Partridge Lakes and B Conroy, Warrington, both 70-15-0.

WOODLAND LAKES (SAT) Curlew, Wagtail & Skylark Lakes (31 pegs)

Curlew Lake peg 17 was the scene of Steve Richards’ weekend winner as the Woodland Tackle man weighed in 151-5-0 of carp to 12lb. He caught on pellet down both margins. Macauley Pearson was next with 141-9-0 from peg 19 on Wagtail Lake, where he fished pellet shallow at 14m, on the deck at 5m and in the edge to net fish to 8lb.

Result: 1 S Richards, Woodland Tackle, 151-5-0; 2 M Pearson, Maver/Dynamite Baits, 141-9-0; 3 D Geldart, Leeds, 134-7-0; 4 S Dunlop, Woodland Tackle, 111-12-0.

YARM AL RAFA (SUN) River Tees, Yarm (34 pegs)

It was still hard going on a clear river, with the bream shoals difficult to find. Darlington Angling Centre’s Keith Ward won with 10-14-0 of small skimmers at peg 157. Groundbait feeder and maggot or worm on the hook drew in the fish.Second was shared between Dereck Fox and Andy Dargue, with 9-8-0 apiece.
