13 Trent barbel over 12lb in just one session

BARBEL fishing sessions don’t come much more hectic than the one John Mott laid claim to when he banked no fewer than 31 doubles.

The Lincolnshire maintenance engineer’s arm-aching session took place on the prolific Cromwell Weir fishery on the River Trent, in Nottinghamshire, where he bagged six specimens over 13lb topped up by another seven over 12lb, among others.

The 44-year-old tempted all his fish on 18mm Dave Mallin test boilies.
