A FANTASTIC SERIES FOR PEMB
I REMEMBER Pemb Wrighting from several years ago when I was match fishing regularly, especially at Gold Valley, and Pemb was a young lad.
Not only is he a brilliant angler, he is a top bloke with a terrific sense of humour, as many Gold regulars have found out, possibly to their cost. So I’m certain that following his superb win in this year’s UK Champs there were fun and games (see report page 64).
Joking and humour aside, to win his section in every match is incredible. I fished the UK Champs in its original guise in the 1990s, when the late Steve Toone was running it, and although it was a high quality field in those days, held as it was on mixed venues there were few real specialists.
That isn’t so these days and Pemb has beaten the best on what
amounts to all away fixtures – and that takes some doing. Well done mate!
