No2 TRUNCHEON WAGGLER

-

For swims that are over 6ft deep, it often pays to switch the float to a Truncheon Waggler pattern, as this float is longer than a Speci Waggler.

I carry these floats in sizes from 2SSG to 5SSG and they really come into their own in swims between 6ft and 10ft deep. Again, I use a No4 shot down the line for every 2ft of depth, with the bottom shot 18ins from the hook.

A big tip I would give you for all the float patterns here is to always cast the rig in downstream, especially if there is a downstream wind.

This will enable you to control your line much more easily than if you are casting directly in front of you.
