FURNACE MILL FISHERY, KIDDERMINSTER, WORCS

The Mucky Meadow Pool is fishing well at the moment for roach. There are lots of redfins in here with a good number of them weighing in excess of 1lb, but the proper specimens do tend to show as the weather gets colder. Fish a waggler or long pole in open water with loosefed caster for the best chance of catching. 50lb nets of carp are also showing on soft pellets fished over micros in open water on this lake. HOME CLOSE FISHERY, OAKHAM, RUTLAND

Ash Lake is home to lots of small crucians, tench and skimmer bream, but right now the abundant shoals of golden orfe are showing. Fish to 4lb are being caught next to the lily pads with casters fished shallow or on maggot fished on the deck in open water over micro pellets. Contact: 07983 969 809 Postcode: LE15 7EX

MEADOWLANDS FISHERY, COVENTRY, WEST MIDS

The advantage of fishing at Meadowlands in autumn is if the carp don’t feed, the silverfish sport is excellent. Skimmers and roach are now being caught on small pellets and chopped worm on Lambsdown, with the deeper pegs on the road bank favoured. Over on Warren the pegs in the trees are throwing up 40lb-60lb bags of carp on bomb and pellet tactics. Contact: 01216 030127 Postcode: CV8 3EG

MOORLANDS FARM FISHERIES, KIDDERMINSTER, WORCS

A net of 80lb is achievable on Silver Lake, where F1s averaging around 1lb can be caught fishing with maggots at 6m. Roach nets to 30lb have also been showing on Middle Pool to similar tactics, while carp nets to 60lb are being taken on pellet on most of the other pools. Contact: 01299 250427 Postcode: DY11 7XN

RYCROFT FISHERIES, CASTLE DONINGTON, DERBYSHIRE

The Carp Pool’s big bream are now showing. At this time of year you can catch them along with nets of carp by feeding pellets at 13m and fishing overdepth. Alternatively, try casting a small cage feeder into open water with corn on a small hair – although this tactic may also pick up the smaller fish, but more of them. SNIBSTON DISCOVERY PARK, COALVILLE, LEICS

If you’re after a net of carp averaging 4lb cast a Method feeder tight to one of the islands on the Match Lake. The Carp Lake is also producing a number of big roach to 2lb. Chuck a waggler to the central island with maggot or breadpunch on the hook to be in with a chance. The dead lily pads also provide a safe haven for these fish, and by fishing maggot next to them you can catch some of the bigger specimens. Contact: 07730 582209 Postcode: LE67 3LN
