THIS week the An­gling Times cam­eras had an ex­clu­sive sneak peek at just a few of tackle gi­ant Pre­ston In­no­va­tions’ new-for-2018 prod­ucts.

Top of many match­men’s ‘must have’ wish lists will surely be the firm’s stun­ning new Ab­so­lute car­bon seat­box – which looks set to re-write the seat­box de­sign and con­struc­tion man­ual.

Sur­pris­ingly, Pre­stons is also phas­ing-out its pop­u­lar Car­bon­ac­tive Mini Plus range of carp rods in favour of the new top-end Car­bon­ac­tive Su­pera range, all of which are said to have

CARP LAND­ING NETS

THE square-framed Latex meshed net will land carp over 20lb. It’s avail­able in 18ins, 20ins and 22ins ver­sions. The Match F1 net has a fine mesh bot­tom which al­lows it to be used with bait bands, Quick Stops and hair rigs with­out snag­ging prob­lems. This one comes in 16ins, 18ins and 20ins di­am­e­ters. greater all-round flex­i­bil­ity.

Newly re­leased reels look to be the ideal foils for the new Su­pera rods, and in­deed our ini­tial im­pres­sions are that th­ese new Cen­tris mod­els are the best yet to come from the Pre­ston In­no­va­tions sta­ble.

They have a stylish aes­thetic, wind­ing power to burn, and are jam-packed with top-end tech­ni­cal fea­tures. They will be avail­able in three body sizes.

STORM SHIELD TRAY

PRE­STON’S Storm Shield Side Tray will keep your bait in top con­di­tion, what­ever the weather.

The large wipe-clean EVA tray fea­tures a tele­scopic sup­port arm so you can ad­just the an­gle of the lid to suit. Ad­di­tional in­ter­nal pock­ets can be used for tackle items or a mo­bile phone. A 30mm ex­tend­ing sup­port leg is a neat and gen­uinely use­ful fea­ture.

CEN­TRIS MT REELS

NEW Cen­tris NT match reels fea­ture long-last­ing ti­ta­nium car­bon ro­tors, ti­ta­nium shafts and com­pact full alu­minium bod­ies in three sizes.

Pow­er­drive worm shaft gear­ing de­liv­ers su­per-slow os­cil­la­tion and 5.0:1 en­hanced wind­ing power, mak­ing the Cen­tris suit­able for all types of match fish­ing. All reels are sup­plied with a spare spool.

AB­SO­LUTE 36 BLACK EDI­TION BOX

THIS Ab­so­lute seat­box is based around a low-slung frame with 36mm legs, and saves weight over pre­vi­ous Pre­ston mod­els. The foot­plate and winder tray cas­settes are se­cured by spring loaded quick re­lease pins. Other key fea­tures are a spirit level, ‘Mag Lok’ clips through­out, and in­ter­change­able colour tabs for the winder trays. A deluxe padded seat in­cludes a handy shal­low side drawer.

Two 36mm threaded end-capped legs will hold pole socks, tulips, rod rest heads or any other off-box ac­ces­sories. Sta­ble mud­feet have a clever tilt­ing mech­a­nism that al­lows them to ad­just to any and ev­ery type of ter­rain. END-CAPPED LEGS MUD­FEET
