Let’s get pike fishing back in perspective

IT’S all too easy to think that quality pike fishing doesn’t exist beyond a few choice waters such as Chew and Blagdon.

Sure, currently these two reservoirs are rightly grabbing the headlines for the amazing pike they are producing, but for me, catching a double-figure fish from my local River Ouse would be just as pleasing.

It’s horses for courses. I can’t afford the prices anglers are being asked to pay to fish Chew and Blagdon, but I don’t begrudge those who can. Good luck to them. Graham Lynn, St Ives
