Patience pays off with five 3lb-plus perch

-

A PATIENT approach paid dividends for Phil Taylor when he netted five huge 3lb-plus perch topped by this 3lb 15oz specimen.

The Lincolnshire angler sat biteless for over an hour on his local river, but he had an inkling that he was in the right area. He was soon rewarded when his float finally dived under and the first of the fish, a 2lb 12oz specimen, took off with his worm hookbait.

The action didn’t stop there for Phil who went on to bag fish of 3lb, 3lb 5oz and two others weighing 3lb 2oz, before the biggest was hooked.

TOP TIP: “Try fishing a top and bottom stick float rather than a waggler when perch fishing as it offers less resistance.”
