Thames record barbel rumour

AS ANGLING Times went to press rumours were rife of a barbel over the current British record of 21lb 1oz.

It was allegedly caught from the River Thames and weighed 21lb 10oz.

The Thames is a venue that many experts believe holds more than one record-shaking barbel.
