Barbel blinkers off!

THIS season I’ve really been into my barbel fishing and the Trent has been my chosen location. I’ve been quite successful with fish to 13lb but after a while I became a little bored I’m sorry to say.

As a former match angler, I decided that instead of chucking a large feeder out for a ‘whiskers’, I’d spend a day on the stick float.

On a still and mild day last week after Storm Brian had calmed down I had a great day with 15lb of roach and chub from the river at Burton Joyce. My message? Take the barbel blinkers off – the Trent has much more to offer! Jeff Cook, Nottingham
