10 TIPS TO END THE YEAR IN STYLE!

With two English ‘fifties’ under his belt in the past couple of months, Ed Betteridge has had a season to remember. Here are his top tips for tracking down big carp in late autumn.

AFTER catching my first UK ‘50’ in late summer and then my second in September, I don’t want to let things slip as we go into what is, to my mind, the best time to catch the really big fish – late autumn!

Spring is the best time to catch numbers of carp, but autumn is when the bigger fish feed more strongly. I presume this is because they need to sustain a larger frame in the cold months, so need to feed later in the year to ensure they only have to pick at food in winter. Here are my tips for tracking down big carp this month – which is one of the best!
