ROSEMARY WOOD FISHERY, HASKAYNE, LANCS

ANGLERS visiting Rosemary Wood fishery are enjoying 100lb nets of carp.

Both lakes here have been on fire but some of the best sport has been on the five-acre Moss Lake. Venue boss Phil Dewhurst says this pool is one of the best pellet waggler waters in the region, and this method is still catching lots of carp to double figures.

Using 8mm-10mm pellets, keep the feed going in and fish a 10mm version over the top. As the weather cools the fish will move out into the deeper water and this is when bomb and pellet come into play. Be patient and wait for the bite when using this method.

The carp go to 20lb-plus in this lake and anglers at night have caught some lumps on pellets.

If carp aren’t your thing, skimmer nets top 30lb from most pegs and these fish can pretty much be fished for exclusively.

Feed dampened micro pellets and fish a 4mm expander or maggot over the top on the deck at 6m-8m.

It’s also worth loosefeeding some casters or maggots on a long pole line for the ide, which run to over 4lb. Start on the bottom with a piece of worm or caster on the hook and shallow up to follow the fish as the session progresses.
