Quality sport in Cumbria Specimen fish of all species and top accommodation

-

CUMBRIA isn’t blessed with much coarse fishing, but this complex certainly makes up for that with fishing and lodges of the highest quality.

It’s situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and guests staying at Lonsdale have the opportunity to fish on five private lakes in more than 40 acres of unspoilt country estate.

What’s more, each accommodation option comes with its own private pegs, so anglers can target the venue’s specimen tench, perch and carp for which Lonsdale is renowned.

The complex offers holiday cottages, well-appointed lodges and caravans, so there’s something to suit every taste and budget.

Arches, a lovely two-acre lake abounding with features, is fishing really well.

It offers exceptional carp and tench fishing, with the average carp in the high doubles and a number of ‘old warhorse’ commons and mirrors thrown into the mix.

There are also some fairly hefty specimen pike to 30lb, plus outstanding roach and perch – with the latter species going to well over 4lb. A spell on Arches is highly recommended.
