Llyn Y Gors is Anglesey’s best-kept angling secret
ONE of the most picturesque but underrated fisheries in the North, Llyn Y Gors offers something for everyone.
Located on the beautiful tourist island of Anglesey, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, the fishery has five lakes to choose from where anglers can target either carp to over 30lb or 100lb nets of smaller fish on the pleasure lakes.
The Old Carp Lake is the venue’s 5 acre specimen water and one of the flagship lakes. It has 23 swims containing around 300 carp to 30lb including a good head of doubles and catfish to 46lb too. The 30-peg Pleasure Lake, meanwhile, is stocked with carp, roach, bream, barbel, tench and rudd and is an excellent choice for lots of bites.
The fishery has two accommodation options. There are three cottages and one chalet, all with beautiful views of the mountains as well as a touring caravan site.
The area has lots to do, including some stunning walks for when you want a break from the fishing. There are several charming seaside towns close by to visit.
