Bartles can’t be beaten
Great fishery and a springboard for exploring Norfolk
IN THE heart of the Wensum valley and surrounded by glorious Norfolk countryside is Bartles Lodge, a multi-lake complex offering great fishing for the day-ticket angler or those looking for a longer break. Comfortable B&B accommodation is available in converted stables surrounded by 11 acres of beautiful grounds at the Elsing fishery, close to the town of Dereham, and if you fancy self-catering there’s a touring caravan site too.
Bartles is the ideal spot for exploring Norfolk, with the broads and North Norfolk coast very close. Norfolk’s capital, Norwich, is just 12 miles away.
There are three lakes on the main site plus two more on the Hall Walk complex just a few miles away in Lenwade, which is open to residents only. The main fishing lakes are Lizzy’s, Laura’s and Victoria’s, with carp the main quarry. Lizzy’s, at three-quarters of an acre, has depths from 2ft-3ft and is stocked with carp to 12lb plus tench, bream, perch and roach. Laura’s is around an acre and slightly deeper, holding carp to over 20lb, tench, bream, roach and perch to 3lb. Why not visit and see what else this fantastic fishery has to offer?
