TWO LAKES, TWO 30s IN 24 HOURS!

Nene Valley 36-pounder a new pb

-

GAVIN Walding showed his adaptability by catching two thirties in 24 hours – first from a syndicate water, then from the busy Bluebell day-ticket complex.

The first of the pair was a 36lb 6oz mirror from a Nene Valley syndicate venue. Having seen, but not caught, fish in a certain area recently, Gavin gave it one more try on his latest session.

“I arrived on the Friday very late and knew that the anglers who were on were all down the other end on the back of the cold wind – but going by the last few trips and what I’d seen, I thought I’d give the area one more night,” he said.

“It took until 10pm to see the first sign of a fish and I quickly dragged the kit from the barrow.

“Off it rattled at first light. After a healthy scrap, she was bundled into the net. It wasn’t until my mate Niall arrived to do the pics that we realised what a gem it was, and a new pb mirror.”

Having returned home soon after, Gavin couldn’t wait to get back out.

“A couple of hours indoors and I soon had itchy feet. I decided to head off to Bluebell’s Kingfisher to see if I could squeeze between the weekend hustle.”

Having found fish in a margin snag, Gavin presented a wafter over some chopped boilies.

“First thing in the morning and a run from hell had me fighting the rod and waders as I got battered among the trees,” he said. “Finally, she was in my landing net and weighed 34lb 8oz. Happy days!”

Both fish fell to CC Moore Odyssey XXX boilies.
