We take a look at new carp and match tackle from Sonik for 2018

SONIK’S new product trade show at Barston Lakes was a real eye-opener – for all the right reasons, I might add!

The big-carp crew from the North East added to the already impressive Gravity X rod range by unveiling two new models – the Dominator X and Vader X – along with matching big pit-style reels.

What’s more, for the first time in its history, Sonik has launched a comprehensive array of bankware.

Choose from the top-end XTI or the more budget-conscious SK-TEK ranges – both are, in fact, very sensibly-priced, and within the reach of most anglers’ pockets.

Sonik isn’t just about big carp, though, as evidenced by the appearance at the trade show of SKSC Commercial Fishery Feeder and Waggler rods.

At first glance, these make a strong case for being the best entry-level carbon rods I have seen this year. To go with them are highly-affordable SKSC Commercial reels in three sizes, perfectly suited to the day-ticket match and pleasure fishing scene.
