ANGLING TRUST SOAR VALLEY WINTER LEAGUE (SUN) River Soar (70 pegs) THE Soar remains low and clear, and that means perch are dominating the weights in this league.

Mark Perkins, fishing for Quorn AS, won with a superb 11-250 of stripeys to 3lb off peg 5 at Normanton, where he caught on worm fished at 11m and 6m.

Team mate Nick West, on Cossington peg 3, also landed perch on worm and maggot for second with 10-360.

Despite having the top three individual­s, Quorn could only manage second behind Sensas Starlets, who made it four wins out of four to top the table with ease from Quorn.
