DEVIZES AA CHRISTMAS MATCH (SAT) Kennet & Avon Canal, Horton (21 pegs) Colmic Devizes MG men turned in a clean sweep of this festive event, taking the top four places. Kev Rowles won it with 11-0-0 of roach and skimmers as he fished breadpunch at 12m. Gary Williamson in second also relied on punch to finish with 7-15-0 of roach and a few skimmers.

DRENNAN TODBER MANOR SILVERFISH WINTER LEAGUE (SAT) Homeground & Hillview Lakes (22 pegs) The Homeground Lake produced first and second in this latest leg, with Thatcher’s man Gary O’Shea winning off peg 82 with 27-4-0 of skimmers and a few bream on pinkie fished over groundbait at 12m. Stu White, on peg 88, used caster on the long pole to follow with 22-8-0 of skimmers.

FRAMFIELD FISHERY (WEDS) Spring Lake (20 pegs) The midweek honours went to Faulkner’s man Dave Walker with 75-5-0 of carp to 8lb plus a few roach. He drew peg 65 and alternated between maggot and pellet at 10m to get well clear of Alan Stewart in second on 57-3-0.

GILLINGHAM AA CHRISTMAS MATCH (SUN) River Stour, Stour Provost - Fifehead (25 pegs) A cold snowy day failed to stop the anglers fishing this annual festive event and Richard Cake took home plenty of goodies for his 10-4-0 win. Drawing peg 56 at Marnhull, he used maggot feeder and lobworm to land four chub, ahead of Jack Stamp’s 6-2-0 of roach on feeder and maggot from peg 21 on Stour Provost section.

Result: 1 R Cake, Gillingham AA, 10-4-0; 2 J Stamp, Gillingham AA, 6-2-0; jt3 P Edwards and D McCoy, both Gillingham AA, both 5-8-0; 5 D Anders, Gillingham AA, 4-6-0; 6 J Mills, Garbolino Blackmore Vale MG, 4-4-0. LAKE JOHN (SUN) Top Lake (15 pegs) The snow saw a few anglers cry off what was going to be a full house but, despite the cold, the leading weights were impressive. Graham Baker took 48-12-0 to win from peg 36, where he used maggot at 13m and 9m for mainly skimmers and roach plus the odd bream. Simon Willsmore was second with 41-8-0 of skimmers plus a bonus carp off peg 10.

OCKENDON BAIT & TACKLE (SUN) Puddledock Farm, Snake Lake (24 pegs) The snow settled as slush on the lake surface in this match, and that saw many anglers wrap up early – but they may have missed out on a brown envelope after all. Colin Luff found the carp on peg 7 where he fished maggot across at 12m to win with 79-14-0 of fish to 8lb.

Tony Smith was on nearby peg 5, also fishing maggot across at 14m to bag second with 43-4-0 of fish to 5lb.
