A mixed day-ticket fishery hosting specimen, pleasure and match anglers. Bottom Lake is the best bet for a bite this time of year, with carp and silvers falling to maggot feeder and pole fished corn. BARSTON LAKES, SOLIHULL, WEST MIDLANDS
A diverse day-ticket complex, and there is something for all anglers on the four lakes here. Daisy’s Lake and the Match Pool are best for a mixed bag of carp, F1s and silvers. Out of the six day-ticket venues here, the well-stocked Fox’s Pool is the best bet for some winter action, with small carp and a good head of silver fish on offer. BEECHWOOD FISHERIES, ELVASTON, DERBYS
A fantastic mixed coarse fishery, available on a day ticket all year round. Venues here continue to produce well throughout the colder months. A 110lb bag of carp fell to pellets and maggots, and won the match on Kingfisher last week. WASSELL GROVE FISHERY, HAGLEY, WORCS
Now under new ownership, and previously fished by the likes of Steve Ringer, the three lakes on this day-ticket complex are well worth keeping in mind. Carp to high doubles, roach, tench, F1s and bream make up the remaining stocks. Two tonnes of silverfish are the latest addition to this improving fishery.
