The river remains a tough nut to crack and every fish counted in this match, Dean Grace winkling out 2-12-0 of roach on groundbait feeder and maggot to win off peg 246 at Linton. John Smiles followed just 1oz behind with 2-11-0 of roach on the same approach from peg 38 at Widdington. BLUNDELL’S FISHERY ROVER (SAT) All lakes (20 pegs)

Picking peg 55 on the Ash Lake, Mark Hassall used bread on the bomb and pole at 14m to pick off carp to 12lb and weigh in a winning 55-15-0. Second went to Pete Roys with 36-10-0 of carp to double figures from peg 74 on the Pine Lake. He also fished bread on the long pole at 16m. BRADSHAW HALL FISHERY SILVERFISH WINTER LEAGUE (SAT) Lakes 2, 3 & 4 (60 pegs)

Maver NW man Joe Cartwright topped this latest round off peg 20 on Lake 3 as he worked with maggot and pinkie at 12m to weigh in a fine 29-12-0 of roach and skimmers given the cold conditions. Mark Morris took second off peg 26 on the same lake with 20-5-0 of roach and skimmers as he used the same approach. GARBOLINO LINDHOLME LAKES NATURAL BAITS WINTER LEAGUE (SAT) Garbolino Lindholme Lakes (42 pegs)

The recently-stocked chub again provided the winner as Andy Geldart drew peg 38 on the Laurels Lake and fished maggot at 13m to enjoy bites all day from small fish to weigh in 49-10-0.

Lee Kerry was at peg 25 on the same lake, and also took chub plus a dozen F1s on maggot at 14m for second with 46-6-0.

HERONBROOK FISHERIES INDIVIDUAL WINTER LEAGUE (SUN) Meadow, Canal, Bridge & Match Lakes (49 pegs)

There was a clear winner of this match, Robin Dale weighing in 70-15-0 of F1s and a few carp at peg 18 on the Meadow Pool. He fished maggot across to the far bank at 14m to get over 25lb in front of John Chapman in second. John drew peg 13 on the Match Lake and also fished maggot on the long pole for a 44-7-0 mix of carp and F1s.

OLD HOUGH FISHERY (SAT) Upper & Lower Benbo, Lucky Dip, Prospect & Big Max Lakes (35 pegs)

Peg 1 on the Prospect Lake was the scene of Nigel Boulton’s win, the Old Hough rod fishing breadpunch at 13m across and to the aerator to pick off carp to 4lb and weigh in 47-2-0. Second went to Paul Carnwell with

35-4-0 off peg 8 on the Lower Benbo Lake.

PARTRIDGE LAKES (SAT) Covey Canal Lakes (34 pegs)

Paul Coyle is in a good run of form at Partridge and the Preston Innovation­s man carried that on by winning Saturday’s open with 42-7-0 of F1s off peg 117 on Canal 5 where he fished breadpunch across at 13m and to the aerator. Roy Bradburn was second from peg 154 on Canal 6 with 28-3-0.

PARTRIDGE LAKES INDIVIDUAL WINTER LEAGUE (SUN) Spey, Marsh, Willow & Covey Canal Lakes 5 & 6 (55 pegs)

Victory in this round went to Franis O’Reilly as the Bag ‘Em Baits/Frenzee man weighed in 57-15-0 of F1s from peg 156 on Canal 6 catching on breadpunch dobbed at 14m to the far bank. That relegated Scott Howarth on peg 18 of the Spey Canal into second as he replied with 43-3-0 of F1s on maggot fished at 13m.

PARTRIDGE LAKES (SUN) Covey Canal Lakes (28 pegs)

While the Winter League was taking place elsewhere on the complex, the open on the Coveys saw top spot go to Graham Sayner with 34-13-0 of F1s taken on maggot fished at 12m from peg 89 on Canal 4. The same approach gave second spot to Gary Wills with 31-11-0 of F1s from peg 81 on the same lake.

SCUNTHORPE DAA (SUN) River Ancholme (32 pegs)

There was fine winning weight on the river for Wayne Easter as the Scunthorpe Tackle man took a level 24-0-0 of roach to 10oz on breadpunch fished at 5m to hand on the whip. Graham Bontoft was also kept busy with roach on punch and a few perch on chopped worm tactics to take 19-12-0.
