Andre’s Angels scored 14 points to win this round, but overall, Sensas A4 and Sensas Oakwood Angling Towpath Teds share the league lead with 34 points. Top rod was Sensas A4 man Kevin Holmes with 7-15-0 off peg 27, where he took small skimmers on breadpunch plus a big 3lb 6oz perch on lobworm. That relegated Brett Cooper into second with 6-8-0.

DAIWA GORDON LEAGUE CIPS RULES LEAGUE (SUN) Gloucester Canal, Simms, Rea & Castle (32 pegs)

Even with bloodworm allowed the fishing is hard on the canal, and just 4-7-0 won the day for Daiwa Gordon League’s Shaun Bryan. Shaun drew peg 18 on the Simms section and took small roach on bloodworm fished at 13m. Jon Tocknell, from the same section, followed in second with 3-7-0 of roach on bloodworm. Overall, Nigel Evans leads the league on 18 points.

The cold really bit hard on Sunday, and even this normally prolific lake struggled to produce the goods. Tony Cassidy won a hard-fought match with 23-0-0 of roach and small skimmers at peg 7, from where he fished maggot at 12m. Steve Clark used the same approach from peg 32 to follow in second with 20-12-0 of roach and skimmers.

The cold didn’t bother winner Martin Andrews – not only was he kept busy with 151-8-0 of carp, but he was also on the golden peg to boost his winnings by over £600! Martin drew peg 99 and fished corn and maggot across at 14m to net fish to 8lb. Ian Nash got closest to him at peg 94 with 116-6-0 of carp on maggot fished to the far bank at 14m.

The newly-stocked Bat Lake produced the top two weights in this round, with Daiwa Dorking’s Paul Garrett winning with 96-4-0 of small F1s at peg 147. He caught

on maggot at 6m. Jason Morgan was second from next-door peg 148, where he went out to 12m with maggot to find his 82-10-0 of F1s. Guildford Bait-Tech won the day with 52 points, and that extends their league lead to three points from Daiwa Dorking.

A tight finish was edged by Peter Vasey with 19-12-0 off peg 56. The Matrix Image man used a combinatio­n of groundbait feeder and pole at 14.5m with pellet to net skimmers and a couple of better bream. Dave Snowdown opted to fish the waggler with pellet to end up just over 1lb behind with 18-8-0 of skimmers. SSP TYLER’S COMMON (SAT) Willow Lake (18 pegs)

Leaving the pole in the bag at peg 4, Steve James stuck to the bomb all day with popped-up bread – and it proved to be a winning decision for the Ockendon Bait & Tackle man, as he landed carp to 5lb for a level 68-0-0 at the scales. That was just one fish in front of George Manoli, who had to settle for second with 62-0-0 off peg 10.
