This was another hard match on a river with extra water in it, and just 2-10-0 won the day for Steve Newns. The KL Tackle man took roach and dace on groundbait feeder and maggot from peg 281 at Linton. On nearby peg 279, Dean Grace took second with 2-8-0 of roach and dace, fishing the same tactics. BLUNDELL’S FISHERY ROVER (SAT) All lakes (24 pegs)

Pinning his faith in bomb and corn from his pick of peg 17 on Trio Pool, David Howard led the way with 43-4-0 of F1s and a couple of bonus carp to leave Mark Hassall in second with 28-4-0 of carp – including a 10lb fish – from peg 61 on Pine Pool, where he used bread on the pole at 14m.

BRADFORD No1 AA CHARITY (SUN) River Nidd, Cowthorpe (30 pegs)

Four fish secured the honours in this annual event for James Vickerman, the Bradford No 1 man using stick float and maggot in the cold and windy conditions to tempt three chub and a bonus barbel for 17-0-0. Runner-up Andy Bradley netted three good chub on feeder and maggot for 14-12-0.

GARBOLINO LINDHOLME LAKES NATURAL BAITS LEAGUE (SAT) Garbolino Lindholme Lakes (40 pegs)

Fourth on the day was enough for Lee Kerry to be crowned champion on seven points, but the day was won by Leeds man Dean Jacques with 42-6-0 of F1s and a few skimmers from peg 20 on Bonsai Lake, where he fished maggot down the middle at 8m owing to the wind. Guru’s Matt Godfrey was second from peg 11 on Bonsai Lake, where he fished maggot at 16m for a

35-5-0 net of F1s plus ide, roach and small chub.

HERONBROOK FISHERIES INDIVIDUAL WINTER LEAGUE (SUN) Meadow, Bridge & Match Lakes (44 pegs)

This normally prolific fishery was affected by cold and windy weather, and 64-8-0 was enough to win the day for Paul Brandrick. The Leigh Tackle & Bait man drew peg 3 on Meadow Pool and fished maggot at 13m and 6m for a net of F1s.

MILL HOUSE FISHERIES (SUN) Mistral Lake (21 pegs)

Sticking to bomb and poppedup bread from peg 51, Ian Cowie picked off carp to 6lb to take a winning 60-2-0. That left triple Fish O’Mania champion Jamie Hughes to settle for second with 50-6-0 of fish to 4lb as he opted for dead maggot on the tip and long pole off peg 54.

MOSELLA QUAKER SILVERFISH SERIES (SUN) Woodland Lakes, Skylark, Partridge, Kestrel, Mallard, Dragonfly & Swallow Lakes (52 pegs)

The lakes were in good silver fish form as a 19-8-0 net of roach, perch, rudd, hybrids and small skimmers won it for Richie Bezemer. The Daiwa Cleveland Angling man drew peg 16 on Swallow Lake and fished maggot at 12m. Alan Lepatourel was next from peg 7 on Kestrel Lake with 18-12-0 of mainly skimmers on waggler and maggot.

There was a tie for top spot, Bob Brander and Phil Holland both recording 41-8-0. Bob drew peg 23 on Canal 2 and fished maggot at 12m for a net of F1s while Phil on peg 127 of Canal 5 swapped between maggot and breadpunch at 13m to catch F1s.

The seemingly unstoppabl­e Guru squad maintain their league lead after this latest round, despite taking third on the day behind winners Garbolino Select and second-placed Matrix Leigh Tackle & Bait White. Top individual was Guru man Steve Parry who, from peg 4 on Spey Canal, fished maggot and bread-punch across at 14m for 64-9-0 of F1s. Matty Ruddy, on peg 21 of the same lake, took second with 57-10-0 of F1s on maggot fished at 16m and 6m.

After a spell of bitter weather it was still a bit of a struggle on the Covey Canals for Sunday’s match, and just 39-9-0 won the day for Gary Mannion. The Partridge Lakes man fished pellet down the middle at 6m from peg 77 on Canal 3 to take F1s, finishing a good few fish in front of Sean Berry on 30-1-0.
