Prebaiting pays for perch personal best

STEPHEN Dewhurst had a pole cup and a centrepin reel to thank for the capture of this personalbest 3lb 12oz perch during a session at his local stillwater in Lancashire.

To draw the big stripey into his swim he deposited a bed of chopped worms and red maggots into the margins, and then floatfished maggots over the top with a rod and the traditional reel. A pole float completed the sensitive set-up.
