“THE plan was to allow the bait to fall naturally through the second half of the swim, giving the carp time to see it and have a go.

“Fishing with a bulk at half-depth and then just one dropper shot in between, I lowered the rig in once the bulk had settled so that the bait dropped under its own weight rather than in an arc, as can happen when you lay the rig in on a straight line.”
