Double-figure Bury Hill zander
MIKE Holcombe proved that stillwaters are just as good as rivers for big zander when he slid the net under this 10lb 5oz specimen.
Fishing the prolific Old Bury Hill Lake at Surrey’s Bury Hill Fisheries, the predator fanatic tempted the double-figure zander and eight others on roach deadbaits fished on low-resistance rigs and size 6 single hooks.
He said: “I caught zander throughout the day, having started fishing at 7.30am.
“My total catch was nine zander, with the best two weighing 9lb 4oz and 10lb 5oz.
“The seven others weighed between 2lb and 6lb 8oz – what a superb day!”
