The section behind Lidl on Bristol Road (GL1 5TF) known as Hempsted Straight has produced double-figure nets of bream and roach. Fishing the pole or slider with maggots over groundbait can result in bites from the bream which, once located, can produce nets of 30lb-plus. The odd zander can be caught here too.
