Martin Bowler goes in search of roach and bream

-

CONGRATULATIONS to new Drennan Cup Champion Dai Gribble – the UK’s best specimen angler of the 2017-18 season! This is Britain’s longest-running and most prestigious specimen fishing accolade and, as it’s voted for by previous weekly winners, you know that the person who wins has the full respect of their peers, as well as the admiration of thousands of like-minded anglers.

Dai’s catches during the season were nothing short of remarkable, with five weekly awards for a series of double-figure tench, bream to over 15lb, a new personal-best 32lb pike from Farmoor, and an incredible roach of 3lb 3oz.

If you’ve ever met Dai you’ll know just how much enthusiasm he has for catching all sizes and species of fish... but the bigger the better!

The top four anglers in this year’s competition should all be proud of themselves – find out who they are on pages 4 and 5.

I’m delighted to announce that Angling Times has signed Dai for an exclusive weekly column too, and from next week he’ll be bringing you the inside line on the rigs, baits and tactics he uses to target big fish.

With exclusive weekly columns from multiple British record-holder Martin Bowler (the hardest working angler in Britain!) too, you know there’s only one mag you need every Tuesday if you want to catch bigger fish this season!

Who knows? You could be winning Drennan Cup awards yourself… so get out there and get catching.
