Why I’m all-a-quiver with the thrill of it!

- Norms McNamara, Torquay

HOW many people on here have fished with a quivertip? I tried it for the first time last week and I have to say I am now hooked (pardon the pun) – so much so that I have just ordered a quivertip rod. It’s not an expensive one but it suits my pocket.

I am an old-fashioned type of pleasure fisherman and I came into this sport very late, just a few years ago in fact. I am now 60 years old, and the excitement I get when I see my float sail away still makes my heart race.

Then I tried quivertip fishing and, oh my goodness, just watching the tip bend a couple of times before it wraps around is just the best sensation – so much better than listening to the beeping of my bite alarms, and nowhere near as annoying!

I am in my 10th year of a diagnosis of dementia, and fishing has given me a new lease of life.
