First crucian – and it’s a stonking 3lb!

MOST anglers would be happy for their first crucian catch to weigh under a pound, so you can imagine young Rory Sharp’s delight when he slipped the net under this 3lb specimen.

Fishing Harris Lake at the prolific Marsh Farm Fishery complex in Surrey, Rory presented a maggot and worm cocktail under a waggler in the margins – and didn’t have long to wait before he was posing with his fine prize. Marsh Farm, the nation’s number one crucian fishery, had come up trumps again. Congratulations, Rory!
