BLUNDELLS FISHERY, WARRINGTON, CHESHIRE

This eight-lake complex remains in superb form, with some exceptional weights out in the last week. On Peg 47 on Trio the venue record was smashed with 430lb 8oz of carp and F1s caught by an angler fishing maggots at 8m on the pole. Ash and Pine haven’t disappointed visiting anglers either, with weights up to 200lb commonplace. HAMPTON SPRINGS FISHERY, CHESTER, CHESHIRE

Some lovely carp have been caught out of Folly, the specimen lake, in the past month. Commons and mirrors to mid-twenties have been landed by anglers fishing with fishery boilies and Peperami. You can expect multiple fish, too, with some anglers catching up to 11 fish in a day session. If you are after more hectic action from smaller fish then Long Island, Meadow, Rock Pool and Alice Springs are all well worth a go on the float. Feed some fishery pellets and fish meat over the top on these lakes and you could connect with anything from big carp to shy-biting crucians. REDWOOD PARK, YORK, N YORKS

Arc, Canal and Redwood Lakes are all producing regular 100lb bags in matches. On Arc Lake carp to 10lb and F1s will provide a good day’s sport and fall to pellets fished shallow or in a feeder. If you’re fishing the Canal Pool, the margins are the best place to be, again with pellets being the best bait at present. Earlier this month the six-hour match record was beaten with a 193lb 8oz catch from Redwood Lake. The big carp and F1s love a bait presented off the bottom on this lake. TRENT VIEW CARP FISHERY, HOVERINGHAM, NOTTS

The specimen carp in this 28-acre pit are well on the feed. Anglers are generally reporting two to four fish over a 24-hour period, and some of these carp are well over 20lb. The winning tactic is to fish popped-up hookbaits over a scattering of chopped boilies and pellets. Casting a single hookbait towards showing fish should be good for a bonus bite or two. WYRESIDE LAKES FISHERY, LANCASTER, LANCASHIRE

This complex is a carp anglers heaven and there are lots of fish coming out at present to back this up. On Sunny Side 2 anglers have reported catches of 15 fish over a 7 day session. These hauls have included multiple 20lb fish which can be caught by either fishing on the bottom over big beds of bait

or up in the water on zigs. The sport on Foxes Lake is even more prolific with reports of 34 takes in 24 hours, including impressive specimens of 26lb banked.
