FLOAT FISH FARM, PETERBOROUGH, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Wagtail and Two Islands Lakes are fishing incredibly well at the moment, with multiple 100lb bags of fish being caught and some going over the magical 200lb mark. The pellet waggler scores well on Two Islands Lake, where you can catch numbers of carp in the 1lb-6lb bracket. Fishing shallow also works well on Wagtail Pool, where a switch to maggots or casters on the pole will see you bag F1s, carp, roach and ide. Contact: 07825 261407 Postcode: PE7 3DZ

FISHERWICK LAKES, WHITTINGTON, WEST MIDLANDS

Good results have been had across the site in past weeks. The six-acre runs water has been producing numbers of carp to anglers fishing zig rigs in the warm conditions. The venue match record was also smashed this month on the Match Lake with an impressive 223lb of fish from peg 14. A few sections of pole with either pellet or maggot fished shallow is enough to amass a good bag of carp to 6lb, bream, roach and tench. For those looking to land a monster, the venue is not to be ignored as there are catfish to over 50lb and plenty of carp to 30lb in the specimen lake. Contact: 01543 433606 Postcode: WS138QF

HEYFORD FISHERY, NORTHAMPTON, NORTHANTS

It’s silver fish galore on both Snake and Acorn Lakes at present. With the carp spending most of their time sunbathing, the silvers are getting plenty of chance to get on the bait. Anglers fishing the first bend have caught numbers of roach, perch, skimmers and small tench by fishing close in on the pole with maggots or pinkies. Hemp and tares have been the go-to bait for selecting the better roach. Acorn Lake has been providing equally consistent action on the whip, which has produced perch, roach and small bream. Acorn is a great beginners’ water. Contact: 01327 340002 Postcode: NN7 3LG

SHALLOWBROOK LAKES, NORWICH, NORFOLK

The fishery owner has described the fishing as ‘truly incredible’ at present, with the five-acre Meadow Lake in top form with 100lb bags of fish commonplace in the last few weeks. Anglers are getting a bite a chuck from carp, tench and skimmers on the float with maggot or corn. It isn’t just smaller species on offer, either. The carp lake has thrown up fish to over 30lb in the last fortnight to anglers adopting a simple boilie approach to the island. The number one tip here is to keep things simple. SUFFOLK WATER PARK, IPSWICH, SUFFOLK

Bream are on the feed on Match Lake 1, with reports of 80lb bags of slabs and skimmers caught by anglers using paste on the pole. The Method feeder with pellet or corn is also worth a try for bigger bonus fish. For the chance of a real specimen bream take a look at The Big Lake or the Traditional Lake – both hold fish into double figures. Be careful not to fish too light on these lakes, though, as the carp like the same baits as the bream and have come out to 33lb in the last week from the Big Lake.
