CATCH 22 FISHING CENTRE, NORWICH, NORFOLK

The bream are well on the feed, with catches of over 20 fish in a 24-hour session. They average 4lb-8lb but there are some proper slabs too, with fish approaching 20lb caught in the past. The feeder is the best way to target them with either a blockend and natural baits such as maggots or a traditional cage version and groundbait approach. You’ll need lots of bait to hold the shoals so stock up at the on-site tackle shop. Contact: 01603 872948 Postcode: NR9 5BQ

TRENT VIEW CARP FISHERY, NOTTINGHAM

Quality mirrors and commons are being caught, including the new lake-record mirror of 36lb from peg 37 on a wafter hookbait fished over fishery pellets. This tactic has also been catching plenty of other fish

over 20lb. The fish can show at ranges anywhere from 20 to 100 yards out so keep your eyes open. Contact: 07905 247777 Postcode: NG14 7JJ

CASTLE ASHBY FISHERY, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

Scotland Pond is in fine form for bream and carp. Anglers are reporting multiple catches of carp to just over 20lb. Boilies or wafters fished on simple rigs are the best way to pick out these lumps. For a mixed catch you can’t go too far wrong with pole or feeder-fished maggots which have produced good catches of bream, skimmers, roach and some decent perch. Similar sport can be had on Brickyard where pellet and paste down the margins have resulted in carp, bream and tench around the 4lb mark. Contact: 07799 527972 Postcode: NN7 1JB

ALVECHURCH FISHERIES, BIRMINGHAM, WEST MIDLANDS

Matches on the two-acre Horseshoe Lake have resulted in decent weights to over 100lb. These nets have included plenty of carp in the 2lb-8lb bracket which can be caught on the pole with pellets. A switch to casters will see you connect with plenty of barbel, with a 100lb bag of berties caught in a recent match. If you are after a bigger stamp of fish then House Pool has thrown up some fish well into double figures to anglers fishing wafter hookbaits over a scattering of Cell boilies. MEADOWLANDS FISHERY, COVENTRY, WEST MIDLANDS

Lambsdown Lake is producing some cracking weights at the moment with multiple 200lb bags caught. Fishing the pole at 6m and feeding with 8mm fishery pellets is a good way to get bites from the carp. Similar results can be had over on Warren Pool, where matches have been won with weights of 250lb-plus, backed up by many other 100lb

hauls. The margins on this lake are particularly productive when targeted with meat, corn, pellets or maggots. Contact: 07858 756474 Postcode: CV8 3EG
