Angling Times WELCOME

TUESDAY DECEMBER 4, 2018

-

THE volume of calls and messages to the Angling Times HQ in the past couple of weeks has been unprecedented following the passing of John Wilson last month.

After the initial shock, the number of positive messages was very heart-warming, and many readers were united in calling for a permanent memorial to be erected in his honour.

As with Ivan Marks’ memorial on the banks of the River Welland at Crowland, we’re putting our full support behind it – we’ll keep you posted.

Once again it’s been an incredible week for fish catches with big perch, barbel, roach, chub, and pike all hitting the banks and we’ve got the tactics behind the best catches inside this issue.

There’s also the amazing pictures of the World’s biggest carp – all 112lb of it – plus news and insightful reaction on why a potential new UK record has been kicked out.

If big carp are your target then this month’s Carpfeed magazine is a must-read too as it reveals those deadly little edges which lead to the fish of the year.

Next week we start the Christmas celebrations early with our massive festive issue which is jam-packed with great features and comes with three exclusive, giant posters you’ll want to keep.

Inside there’s some brilliant offers for fishing at top venues, a classic fishing book deal, and tactics you’ll want to try throughout the holiday season. We’ve also got the inside line on two amazing new TV series every angler will enjoy, and our exclusive coverage of the National Angling Awards – the Oscars of the fishing world – where the best of 2018 is rewarded.

It’s out on Tuesday, December 11 and you won’t want to miss it!
