Q My maggots keep stretching out and dying. What can I do to keep them alive on the hook?

A Water temperatures have been way down lately, and fresh maggots don’t like cold water! I use week-old maggots for the hook and a 50/50 mix of fresh and old for feed in these conditions. The fresher maggots travel a bit further down the flow than the old ones, and this gives me two catching areas.
