The besT way To feed

-

“If you get no joy on the dobbing rig, it’s time to break out the pole pots! The first job is deciding where to begin feeding in the peg, and ideally I’d have had some signs somewhere in the swim to work off. If not, then I’d go for fishing away from me down the peg a little, as I find that the fish rarely sit directly in front of the platform.

“Dripping in a few maggots is done to try and encourage some competition, as carp and F1s are inquisitive. even if they’re not hungry, I think they will investigate a few maggots dropping through the water. This is done using a small Guru pot on the pole with just six to eight red maggots dripped in each time. I fill the pot up, and from this I can get three feeds without having to ship back in a refill the pot.”
